Warhammer 40,000: The App 12+

This app was initially an excellent resource for use in army building and as a way to quickly view data sheets while playing the game.

The app locking everything behind a paywall was unfortunate but not bad at enough to dissuade me from using it. Double locking the content for Tyranids (the faction that I play) was the final straw. In order to use this app for my faction, I would have to pay roughly $120 for the first year. It’s simply not worth it anymore.

The app itself is a good way of viewing all of the information needed to play a game of warhammer. However there are some frustrating elements. Once the codex for a faction is released it requires an additional purchase of the codex to view those rules in the app. Lists can still be made with those units however without the codex, but the stats will not be visible.

Second people not subscribing to warhammer plus are limited to 1 army list. Building a list is quick and they can be exported, but this is still a limitation.

For me the ability to quickly search rules has made up for the other down sides, but that is also considering that buying a codex is not a new thing for players to need to do. As for warhammer plus, that is the biggest negative this app currently has. For some the model and shows will be worth the 7000 yen yearly buy in, for others it won’t be.

前バージョンまでの評価は★5だった。しかし現在、このアプリは兵のステータスが全てロックされていて、ポイントコスト以外見れないゴミアプリになっている。

開発であるGWは「バトルに必要なデータは無料でデータ公開する」と7月ごろに宣言していたが、見事に裏切った形だ。
本件だけでなく、公式のインデックス情報も更新されないと問い合わせで知った。

以前までのインデックスカードは全て可燃ゴミになり、アプリも公式もこの有様。
もはやついていくことはできない。
